Collection of Medicinal & Aromatic Plants

Long before modern medicine, gardens were pharmacies. The apothecary tradition — growing plants for their wellbeing properties, their fragrance, and their place in the kitchen — is one of the oldest and most satisfying forms of gardening, and it's enjoying a quiet revival.

This collection brings together plants with a long history of traditional use: aromatic Mediterranean herbs like lavender, rosemary and thyme that have earned their place in both the kitchen and the medicine cabinet; flowering perennials like echinacea, valerian and calendula, grown for centuries for their recognised properties; and plants whose scent, texture and character make them as valuable in the garden as they are in a tisane or a homemade remedy.

All are hardy, most are low-maintenance, and many are genuinely beautiful in their own right — plants that pull their weight ornamentally while quietly doing something more.
