Santolina chamaecyparissus is a fragrant, evergreen shrub that is densely covered in soft, grey-green leaves.

The leaves are alternate, densely grey to white and tomentose. They are also intensely, wonderfullly fragrant when crushed. It somehow always smells of summer, even when it is pouring rain outside.

The flowers are a bright bright yellow, resembling little buttons floating above the sea of grey on slender stems.

✂️ Make sure to trim her back after the flowering period is up to keep the mounds looking well kempt.
👯‍♀️ Make sure to look for the rooting branches - you can replant those in a neighboring area and create an aromatic silver pathway.

Chamaecyparissus means 'ground cypress' though it is very clearly not a cypress.Nor is it a cotton or a lavendar.Though it is loved by the cosmetics industry for its tonic properties. And by the insect-repellent industry when in its fumigant form.Other names:Cotton lavendarLavendar cotton
