ReadyMade Garden

A complete, low-maintenance garden bed, designed and delivered as a kit - plants and planting guide in one order!

Our layout - where we have arranged the plants so as to create a harmonious ecosystem - is drawn directly onto a geotextile fabric.

Our method - once the shipment arrives, lay the fabric flat on the ground where you have chosen to create your dry garden. Fix it down with clips and plant through the marked positions.

The geotextile suppresses weeds and helps hold moisture in the soil beneath as your plants establish.

This particular mix is built for a dry, sunny bed, combining low mat-forming ground covers, silver foliage, and taller accent plants for structure and late-season color:

Ground level:

• Thymus longicaulis - a vigorous, mat-forming creeping thyme with aromatic dark green leaves and clusters of pink-lilac flowers in late spring/early summer
• Tanacetum densum subsp. amani - low, spreading mounds of silvery, feathery foliage with small yellow button flowers in summer

Mid-height and texture:

• Convolvulus cneorum - silky silver-grey foliage with white funnel-shaped flowers
• Sedum spectabile 'Septemberglut' - fleshy grey-green succulent leaves topped with flat, rosy-red flower heads from late summer into autumn, a magnet for bees and butterflies
• Lavandula multifida 'Torch Blue' - finely divided, silvery fern-like foliage with striking violet-blue flower spikes held above the leaves, aromatic and long-flowering
• Miscanthus sinensis 'Ruby Cute' - compact ornamental grass with feathery, ruby-toned plumes in late summer, adding movement to the bed

Height and structure:

• Cordyline australis 'Burgundy Spire' - upright, sword-shaped burgundy foliage for vertical accent
• Verbena bonariensis 'Lollipop' - compact, self-supporting clusters of small purple flowers from summer to the first frosts, attractive to pollinators
