The Tale: Euonymus fortunei 'Emerald Gaiety'

Euonymus is very similar to ivy in the way that it grows and matures.

It has a juvenile phase: this is characterized by a sterile, non-flowering, climbing or creeping phase.

It has an adult phase: this is characterized by an adult, flowering phase without climbing rootlets.

The transition often occurs once the plant has reached a certain height and a certain amount of light, allowing it to begin bearing fruit.
